A little moonchild…
My creative journey started at midnight on July 7th. The planets in the sky the night I was born played a pivotal role in my career journey, giving me three placements in the 5th house of creativity.
In the fifth grade, I picked up a journal and started writing daily. By middle school, I taught myself how to use Photoshop CS3 and Sony Vegas. My free time was always filled with creation. Photography, video editing, and designing — there was no escaping from my true calling.
Now I use my creativity to design digital experiences from visual identities to email marketing. I help people communicate their stories with intention. The driving values behind my creativity are intentionality and emotional integrity. Art has the power to bring people together, and it’s one of my core missions to create art that can heal others.
Rooted in truth, driven by curiosity
My journey as a graphic designer is similar to my personal life; it’s anything but boring. I can define my creative career with one word: dynamic. By following my curiosity, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of people across multiple industries. From working in-house at educational institutions to designing for startup marketing teams to freelancing for agencies— these experiences have sharpened my skills and laid the foundation for my creative career. Now I know how to transform creative visions into work that connects with people.
Creating for me is synonymous with breathing. Not only is it a part of my career, but it’s how I express myself in this world. Designing isn’t only about making things look beautiful, but also about solving a communication problem. One of my favorite things about designing is challenging the status quo—how can I make an existing system more functional and efficient? I might suggest copy edits or a design system overhaul because the container in which a design is created is just as important as the result itself.
Design plays a key role in how communication is delivered in our world today. I believe that everyone, no matter who they are, deserves equitable access to information.
